Energy Efficiency Equals Savings
The most efficient kilowatt hour is the one that is never used
Situation:
Our client had considered several energy projects but wasn't sure how to proceed. Specifically, HVAC control issues rendered some customer rooms overly chilled. At the same time, roof vents were being considered to cool rooms on the top floor of the building that were too warm. Kalpa was able to leverage its relationship with Energy Trust of Oregon to successfully manage an energy efficiency project that allowed our client to keep its customers comfortable and reduce their energy consumption.

Implementation:
Our client benefited from the systematic process that Kalpa utilizes to manage the implementation of energy efficiency projects:
- Audit(s) - Conduct high level impact assessments and/or very detailed energy audits
- Incentives - Apply for local, state and federal incentives may be available
- Bids - Kalpa manages multiple vendors, bids, and/or projects
- Project Management - Kalpa manages human and material resources and time constraints
- Results Delivered - savings are realized and go directly to the client's bottom line
Project Results:
Several recommendations were immediately adopted, including HVAC improvements to better regulate temperatures and energy use. As a result, our client's electric bill will be reduced while customer and employee satisfaction will be increased. Other potential improvements are being considered, pending approval of third party incentives, including a blower door test to determine insulation effectiveness of the entire building.
